The festival is a showcase of the best of what has happened in domestic children's literature in the last year. Authors from publishing houses from all over the country, whose common goal has been to produce quality children's literature for decades, participate in the festival programme: Meander, Baobab, Albatros, Host, Paseka, Portál, and among the younger ones Abramis, Pikola, POP-PAP, Běžíliška, Cesta domů, etc.
The Children, Are You Reading Festival is the largest literary festival for children in the Czech Republic. It is about a big topic - the increasing lack of reading among children. The festival was born thirteen years ago in an effort to bring adults and children together to experience reading as a unique adventure. And also to remind us that, just as a hundred years ago, there are still quality and inspiring children's books being produced in this country that are worth reading. The festival is also unique in that it includes a large number of genres that touch on books in different ways, showing children beautiful literature in all its complexity, as the basis from which other kinds of art only then emerge. In an imaginative and entertaining way, it encourages children to want to read and, in collaboration with parents and teachers, to strive to keep literature in their lives forever.
