Potrefená husa – Zajícova smrt (The Fallen Goose - The Death of the Hare)

Somewhat crazy proverb variations come to life in the riddle and art workshop of the author Štěpanka Jislová. Some things will be put into perspective and others will lose their perspective. So let's not throw pearls at mountains, but at people.

Přeřekadla by Štěpanka Jislová is a small book full of traditional Czech sayings and proverbs, which, however, remain only "bitten", unfinished. The reader has to complete them themselves. As in the quiz, we have a choice of three or four answers or illustrations. Only one is correct, but the others are guaranteed to entertain us. It doesn't have to rain, just a pigeon on the roof? Or maybe: who wants to beat a dog, can't buy it in the apathy? If we are not sure, there is a key at the end of the book. However, we may not even use the list of correct proverbs, because getting it wrong in Přeřekadla is not a mistake, but a joke. The mangled proverbs are accompanied by original black and white illustrations and are definitely not just for a one-off read. They are full of charming misunderstandings that readers, not just children, will love to return to.
