A literary competition that will spark children's imaginations!

The Centrum české dětské knihy (Czech Children's Book Centre) together with the festival Children, Do You Read? announces

"A literary competition that will spark children's imaginations!"

It will take place in two waves according to age categories: 6-9 and 10-15 years old.

The first wave

Target group: elementary school (6-9 years old)

Task: write a story of max. 1 A4 page; you can accompany the text with your own illustrations (or invite a friend to create it!)

Theme: "Macroura and Pacmoura"

Who is Macroura and who could Pacmoura be? The two stray cats that Mrs. Vopěnková feeds next door after dark? Or is that what Petřík's friend named his two leaky socks? Write your own version of their story!

The author of the winning text will receive a book of their choice from Meander Publishing. The text will be published on the CČDK website and the Children, Do You Read? in a unique artwork by our graphic designer.

The winning work will be officially announced and launched on the 1st of June during the Children's Day event in front of the Starý purkrabství in Vyšehrad.

Please send the competition entries by the 30th of April to info@ccdk.cz (in the subject line "Macroura and Pacmoura"). In the header of each entry, please include the name and surname of the author, age and contact (phone/email) of the legal guardian.

The CCDC team will judge the literary entries received and select the winning entry. In the event of winning, the contestant agrees to publish the work on the website www.ccdk.cz and www.detictete.cz.
